Although the house was perfectly liveable, it felt tired, outdated, and lacking in warmth. The brief was to restore a sense of joie de vivre and transform it into a welcoming family home designed for everyday living and entertaining.

The project involved a complete rethinking of the ground floor. All of the existing walnut woodwork, which had deteriorated beyond repair, was removed. A new layout was created, with the dining room, sitting room, and library arranged in a classic enfilade, allowing light and views to flow through the house while creating generous and convivial living spaces.

Upstairs, the bedrooms were redesigned to reflect the distinct personalities of each child, creating individual worlds that balanced comfort, imagination, and character.

The result is a home that combines the charm of a Dordogne country house with a renewed sense of light, warmth, and family life.
